I don't understand people's obsession with external beauty. It is only skin deep because at the end of the day we will all day and we'll become nothing more than dust and bones. We'll probably get eaten by maggots, so, what's the point? From my point of view, spending a life-time suffering and being so concerned about our own beauty, spending tons of money on make-up and antiaging products and caring so much about every little thing that may be wrong with our physical appearance, just to be eaten by worms a few years later, it's kind of stupid. Worms don't care. They eat everything. And if they eat everything, it means that everything is fine the way that it is.

In the Nip Truck’s first chapter there is the story of two brothers, one of them escape of his boss, he have had sexual relations with the boss daughter, a little girl. We want to an other person. The paedophile’s brother wants his brother surergy to start a new life, but the padereast only wants to be most pretty to attract more little girls. So the asthetic surergy don’t change the patient soul. So the truth it isn’t in the skin you have to know who some really is to talk about him.

I think the industries make us worry so much about our appearance and some people want to be forever young to preserve the beauty of the youth, but become older is an human process and this goes hand-to-hand with the decrease of the beauty, and we have to accept that we are becoming older but also we have to accept that in our skin there are appearing wrinkles, and other types of aging marks. Also, I believe that we have to start to overlook our beauty, and live our life as if every day is the last day we are here to profit the youthfulness.

If I can afford, I would say that Oscar Wilde was wrong. There are not two types of beauty. I think there’s more than two. There is just as many view point of beauty as there are people in the world.
I believe beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Beauty is a matter of perspective. Everybody has a different idea of beauty. Ideas that have been often influenced by society. That’s why they used to change. And not only the canon of outside’s beauty use to change inside too.

Dorian Gray could give anything to be forever young, he think that without beauty he is nothing, he could his soul to be forever beauty.
The soul is the most internal thing that can guide our way of think and do our feelings are our essence. So the price that Dorian Gray’s have to pay is not have feeling, be an ice person, and that it’s the most dangerous think that can happened to someone, because then you don’t have a right way to be and to do.
The bad thing is that I think that nowadays it’s happening more or less the same there are too many people that can do anything to be forever young and pay a lot of money for that. I think that the best think that we can do it’s accept the years and waste the money in things that at final of our life we can be proud of that, you never will know how an aesthetic surgery can be.

The reasons of this ceaseless changing it’s based on the continual changing point of view of beauty. A subjective beauty that keeps changing as time passes.
Beauty is constantly changing and some of those please people. That’s why they remain until another slight changing arrives and capture the people attention.

Beauty change as the history change, every time has his prototype of beauty, ancient Greeks has the prototype of fibrate women, during the 20th century, the ideal of women was a curvy body and nowadays the prototype is a fit and skin women. But what that can happens, who describes the prototype? Why the women can be influenced by that? I think it’s because the publicity, the TV and the social networks, all the girls that are famous have a ‘’perfect body’’ sometimes if you don’t have that body you can’t success.
My conclusion is that we don’t have to accept that, we have to say yes to our body and love it, because maybe when we have had our age perfect body that can change, and became another.

On the other hand I’m also agree with the second sentence because the majority of us judge people by the appearance, even if we try not to do it, unconsciously we think different about a good looking person comparing to a homeless for example, and maybe the first is a murder and the second one is a very good person.
So all we know that’s bad, howeve we still doing it because of the stereotypes that society put in our minds.

Which patient would be similar to Dorian Gray?
What are other possible patients looking for plastic surgery, do you think?
    Juanjo Bardas:
In the first chapter, Sean's wife, Julia, hints (later she says) that she wants a breasts operation, I don't remember if she wanted it because the shape, the size or any other reason. She left medical school to devote herself to being a mother and wife, moreover she wants to retake her studies. Julia is a bit pissed off with her husband because she used to treat her in a different way.
The blonde girl who has sex with Christian, can be related with Dorian Gray because both of them desire to be young forever if not they'll be ugly.
    Sean's son wants a circumscision.
    Jordi Bramon:
In my opinion the character of the serie Nick/Tuck who is more similar to Dorian Gray is Christian, because they have the same behaviour, and te two are handome men. The two characters are obsess with to keep the good image and to keep this sensation of youth, they won't grow up, and be a old person with wrinkles and unflattering image.
Moreover for to keep this youth, the two characters had problems, Dorian with her portrait, and Christian with the two big and bad men.

    Ballu Touray:
Dorian Gray was a handsome man who at the start of the book didn’t care about getting old but after talking with Lord Henry he changes and gets in love with his beauty and his ugly soul. I think there are some characters in Nip/Tuck that have things in common with Dorian Gray.

In contrast, in this day and age, it is completely the opposite; a beautiful woman is thin and dark skin. What a surprise, don’t you think so! That is why I think the rules of beauty are wrong. A pretty woman is who makes visible her intern beauty, giving to anyone the possibility to understand her personality just looking her aspect. All without consider the passing of time.

In spite of that, I know it’s difficult to make women aware that ideals of beauty are just a trend, so I think it’s good that some brands are trying to show different bodies as a beauty ideal, because it’s something that can make women appreciate more themselves.

Nowadays, all of us want to look handsome and we want that people think we are handsome. We try to go trendy, have the most beautiful clothes and people like our outfit. We are always looking for the approval of the people around us, but I think it's best to approve yourself, to feel good with yourself because all the beauty ideals change constantly and when you are in a one canon of beauty, that will not be fashionable and you will have to change again, so enjoy your body and how you are, because there is only one life and many people would like had the body you have.

Is beauty subjective or objective? Of course, physical beauty is subjective. In any case this is my point of view. Everything linked to fashion and trend change constantly. That’s a fact. As the article says about the “perfect body” it happened with high heeled shoes, a fashion accessory.
As heels passed from manly tendency to sexy and might change again, the “perfect body” changes too and will never stop changing too.

No matter if Dorian sells his soul or not, I think that the most important in this passage is the message that we can see. Oscar Wilde’s novel gives us an idea of two different types of beauty. There’s the one that is superficial and ephemeral; the physical one. And there’s the deep beauty that is inside of everybody.
